First Few Days

View Australia on primrose's travel map.

All packed up and ready to go! Thanks Mom and Dad for the ride to the airport and to all our friends and family for the good wishes and helping us get on the road!

Flight photos! Thanks Nagy family for the upgrade coupons! The kids first flight - they have no idea how spoiled they were. Neil was a light sleeper but was manageable - we were all so excited to be in the air!

This is a picture of a fig tree! Upon arrival in Sydney, we were greeted by Natalka from GED (Global Education Designs). Along with the 15 Lewis and Clark students, we took at short but ride to the Arundel House where the students are staying. Then a short taxi ride for our family to a little suburb called Newtown. We have a nice apartment with two bedrooms, baths, kitchen, balcony, and air conditioning. We are very close to the University of Sydney where the students are in classes. This Fig Tree is one of many along the walk to the University. More on Fig Trees later......

The kids were up at 4:30 am so this is our second breakfast outside on our balcony.

We went on a three hour bus tour of Sydney with the LC students. It was a good overview of the bays surrounding Sydney. And the views were breathtaking!

Jackpot! A playground at Bondi Beach - this is one of the most famous beaches in Sydney and we will definitely be going back here! This was a short stop during the bus tour.

Happy Birthday Mia! This is at Mickey's Cafe in Newtown.

You were right Jill! The sticky date cake was out of this world!

Mia turns eight! Macaroni and Cheese for dinner with candles! We have a grocery store nearby and we can buy similar products to the US. Cereals and snacks are novel and the kids are enjoying picking out new things.
